Aleix Falguera

I was born on November 15, 2002 in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat. My family is a hardworking and humble family. I have an older brother. I consider myself to have had a very good childhood thanks to friends, family and the people around me. There was a time in my life when I was 15 that I realized that life is not as beautiful as it sounds for kids this age. A lifelong friend of mine went on a trip with his parents and brother to France. They had a very serious accident on the highway and their father died in that accident. The mother only sustained a very spectacular wound to her arm and the two children sustained virtually nothing. When I found out I started to cry because I had a good relationship with his family and they showed me photos of how the car looked and was shattered.

At that point, my mindset changed completely because I realized that life can go very fast and you don’t even realize it. Life, in the end, is a coincidence, maybe if it hadn’t rained that day the father would now be laughing and enjoying life. I still have a relationship with that friend and he hasn’t gotten over it yet and it’s been almost four years since all of this. Basically I think and I think I would not overcome it as it is a very, very traumatic fact and you should not erase from your head the image of seeing your father unconscious and a lot, it must be very traumatic. Now after what happened to my friend I act in a way that I value my family, friends and everything because from that moment on I occasionally think about it, for example if I get angry with my parents or them I say something wrong I think and I think that at any moment the life of one of them can go away.

Things have happened to me in my life or I've seen and witnessed things that, although not very traumatic, still stick in your head. These little things that I have witnessed or seen, make you learn what life is like and you gradually mature. I also had to overcome obstacles in school, as I went through a lot and didn’t study at all, but in the end, you learn that if you want to have a good future you have to choose the path to study. At this age you are enlightened by money and you think that if you start working and earn money, you can buy things, live well and have whims but when you imagine yourself at 40 and earning a bad salary you can be pissed off for not having followed student.
